Emergency Appeal:
Nepal Floods, August 2026

News_001_001.jpg

The headlines have moved on. The children haven't.

More than a month after devastating floods hit Nepal, thousands of children and families are still living with the consequences.

According to UNICEF, 32,021 children have been affected by the floods, with education disrupted for more than 14,000 children across 62 schools and learning centres. Metal For Nepal has been on the ground from the beginning — delivering emergency essentials and, after seeing the situation first-hand, focusing our efforts increasingly on children.

From emergency relief to rebuilding lives

Our first response delivered essential supplies including :
Food, Water, Clothes, Blankets, Tents, Sanitary supplies, Cooking Equipments.

But we quickly realized that children needed more than physical essentials. Many children we met had survived the flood while losing their homes and, in some cases, being oppurtunity to process what they had experienced.

So we went back.

We brought toys, art supplies, clothes, food and mental-health support, and introduced projectors into holding centres.

Fo a little while, children could simply be children again - watching cartoon,s laughing, playing and creating. We also used the projectors to show animated hygiene and sanitation education, helping reduce the risk of disease in crowded temproary centres.

What we've achieved together

Our next goal: rebuild a school.

With the support of our community, we have so far reached:

800+ families, with emergency relief and essential supplies

1000+ children with food, clothing, toys, art supplies and acitivities

100 families, provided with gas cylinders and cooking stoves

Multiple holding centers, supported with projectors, entertainment and educational content

Elderly homes & local communities, provided with essential support.

This work has only been possible because people chose to stand with Nepal.

But the work isn't over.

The emergency headlines may have faded, but the communities affected by the floods are still rebuilding their lives. Schools remain destroyed. Children remain displace. And there is a long road ahead.

Our next goal: rebuild a school

We want to help rebuild at least one safe, fully functional and disaster-resilient school in an affected community.

To do that, we need people who are willing to stay with us beyond the immediate emergency.

Stand with Nepal every month

£25 a month can help us continue our work with children in Nepal and build towards our school reconstruction project.

Can't manage £25? £10 a month still makes a difference.

This isn't about one big donation. It's about our community staying with Nepal after the headlines have moved on.
